Three days passed. A guard came down once a day with a small bowl of cold soup for me. Just enough to keep me alive. Nothing was brought for Darius. Bloodlust lived within his eyes. He still refused to even look at me. The chains left burns on his skin.

There was no sign of Andrei or Isa. I prayed that they made it out and that they were with Daphne. Trying to figure out how to free Darius and me. I tried to think of anything but the worst outcome for them. I knew they would be here for us soon.

I awoke on day five with Darius inches away from my face. A quiet predatory stare into my soul. After a moment he backed away to his side of the cell.

“S-sorry,” He winced. “I thought if I just smelled you the hunger would subside.” His eyes never looked away from me. I recognized that look from my nightmares.

“Well, I am surprised to see that you both are still alive.” Dimitri sneered as he walked down the steps. “How… disappointing.”

He approached the bars near Darius. Whispering something. I couldn't hear what was said. Whatever it was threw Darius into a rage. He flew to the bars, reaching for his father. Roaring in pain as the chains dug into his skin.

“I will KILL you!” He screamed over and over. Dimitri took a step back just in time to escape Darius’ grasp. The chains had made him slow.

“Only after you kill your true love.” Venom dripped from those last two words.
